Lapis Lazuli has been used in jewellery since ancient times. It can be found in Egyptian, Indian jewellery and even in the inlaid jewellery of the Sutton Hoo burial find in England. It's rich distinctive blue livens up navys, greys, whites, blacks and purples. The hints of "gold" often seen in the stone are actually Pyrite (also known as "Fool's Gold").
